Privacy Policy

At St. Mary's Wootton we collect different types of information about our users for the following main reasons:

  1. To provide a useful resource in the form of an online directory of users.
  2. To provide an interactive website where email is used to communicate with the users.
  3. To provide a security mechanism whereby we can restrict content to certain groups of users.
  4. To help us to improve the service we offer.

Our principles

We are absolutely committed to protecting your privacy. Our policy can be summarised in one sentence: we will not share your information with others without your consent.

We have established the following two principles:

  1. We will respect your email privacy. You will only receive email from St. Mary's Wootton in relation to areas you have expressly signed up for.
  2. We will not share any individual user details (including your email address) to any third party without your consent.

What information do we collect?

We collect information on our users through registration.

The minimum information we need to register a user is your first and last name and a password. We also ask for some further, voluntary information so we can provide a richer, more useful address book.

Who will have access to your information?

You have control over who is able to access specific items of information. By default your personal information will be visible to other authenticated users of the site. You can change these settings from your personal profile page. Your information will be used to build the online address book and show your birthday in the St. Mary's Wootton calendar.

What else you should know about privacy

Remember to close your browser when you have finished your user session. This is to ensure that others cannot access your personal information and correspondence if you share a computer with someone else or are using a computer in a public place like a library or internet cafe. You as an individual are responsible for the security of, and access to, your own computer.

Please be aware that whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information over the internet that this information can be collected and used by others. In short, if you post personal information in publicly accessible online forums, you may receive unsolicited messages from other parties in return. Ultimately, you are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your usernames and passwords and any account information. Please be careful and responsible whenever you are using the internet.

Our pages may contain links to other websites, and you should be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices on other websites.

We use Stripe for payment, analytics, and other business services. Stripe collects identifying information about the devices that connect to its services. Stripe uses this information to operate and improve the services it provides to us, including for fraud detection. Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello!

Amanda & Lois

Here's what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When

We meet at St. Mary's Church (details here) at 10am every Sunday.  When you arrive one of our Welcome Team members will help you find a seat.  Services are an hour long and are for all ages.  We have children's groups for ages 2 to 13 year olds most weeks, apart from at our All Age services, when we all stay together.

We serve tea, coffee and biscuits after the service. Its a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access and a sound loop. We are very happy to support and make reasonable adjustments for any other additional needs. We do have break out spaces if needed too. Please speak to one of the Welcome Team on your arrival and they will be glad to help you. There is a disabled toilet and baby changing facilities.

What to wear: Whatever you like! There is no dress code.

Our Service

The service begins at 10am.  There is a mixture of traditional hymns and modern worship songs, prayers, a Bible reading and a sermon.  The first Sunday of each month is our service of The Lord's Supper.  On the second Sunday each month we have an All Age service, where children stay in the service.

What about my kids?

Children stay with their parent or carer for the first 10 minutes or so of the service.  After that they are welcome to join in with our children's groups if they would like to.

In each children's group there is a friendly welcome, Bible stories, praying, craft and games. Your children will return just before the end of the service.  All groups take place within the church building.

All our young people's leaders have been appropriately trained and DBS checked.

To find out more about our young people's groups visit the Children's Ministry page.

Getting Connected

Growth Groups

While Sundays are a great way to meet new people, it is often in smaller gatherings that you can really get to know someone. Being part of one of our Growth Groups allows you to make new friends, study the Bible, share together and support each other. We have a variety of groups that meet throughout the week. Check out our Growth Groups and let us know if you'd like to join one.

Other Ministries

We also run the following ministries:

  • Men's Breakfast
  • Lunch Club (for the 50's and over)
  • JAM (for 13 to 18 year olds)
